We're here.

We made it to Connecticut! We actually got here Saturday, but life has just been a whirlwind since then. I hardly have 5 minutes to myself anymore.

We left Friday morning after a night of frantic last-minute packing and loading up the car.

It was supposed to be a 15.5 hour drive, 920 miles. But with two little kids, we stopped often, and it turned into more of a 17.5 hour drive. A BIG thank you to Anthony's dad who drove us, because I would not have been able to do it. I'm a pretty anxious driver and have only been on the highway twice. Once being today. ANYWAY. At about hour 13, Helena was passed out, and Jordan was trying to sleep but kept waking up screaming. As much as I wanted to push through, we decided to get a hotel room so the kids could sleep in a bed and get some good rest. Well, that totally backfired because they stayed up for 3 more hours, putting us at 4:30am. We were back on the road at 9am. Yeah. Tired.

We got to our final destination at 1:30pm. Overall, it was a pretty stress-free drive. Helena is usually a horrible traveler - lots of tears and getting sick/running a fever. But she actually did really great this time. The snacks probably helped a lot. The kids were absolutely overjoyed to see their dad again. Helena just could not stop giggling. I'll admit, I almost cried seeing them so happy.

The next day was spent exploring Hartford.

We're currently living in an extended stay. This room is tiny. It's nearly impossible to keep clean. I'm stressed out, Anthony's stressed out, the kids are stressed out. We've been looking for a place to rent, and filled out applications for 2, but we won't know whether we got either until this weekend. Keeping our fingers crossed we get one of them.

Our tiny room. You think it'd be easy to keep clean since it's so small, but the reality is there is so little room to do anything, that it gets messy really quick. It's seriously never clean for more than 2 minutes.

Overall, we're glad to be starting this new adventure, and Anthony really likes his new job. Although things are hard now, they will get better soon. And it's all totally worth it.
